Hours: 10.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday 10.00 - 16.00, Thursday 14.00 - 16.30 and Friday 10.00-12.00

The role

We are currently looking to recruit a Day Care Assistant.

Within the role the successful candidate will contribute to the effective and efficient function of the day centre, to the highest standards, by providing a day care service which meets with the physical, social, emotional recreational and therapeutic needs of older people.

You will assist in meeting the needs of the service users through the provision of personal care, promotion of dependence and working in conjunction with the service users.

What we’re looking for                                                                                     

The essential requirements for the role include:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people
  • Experience of working with people with various support needs
  • Experience of working constructively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of issues that affect older people
  • Knowledge of issues related to health & safety at work in service delivery
  • Knowledge of legislation surrounding care provision and older peoples issues (desirable)
  • GCSE or equivalent standard in English and Maths
  • NVQ Level 2 accreditation or willingness to learn
