Hours: 35 hours per week

This is an amazing opportunity to join Housing 21 as the new Head of Operational Support Services working across our Retirement Living and Extra Care operations.    

Oversight and leadership of an operational support team of specialists, in the areas of Social Housing Regulations, complaint, policy, and anti-social behaviour.  You will be responsible for developing, delivering, and embedding the strategy and direction across operations, keeping us safe and compliant in these areas.

You will have in depth knowledge, experience and understanding of the regulations, using your expertise to inform and support our operational teams to provide safe and effective services to our residents.  You will influence and embed policies and procedures across the organisation and where required identify risks.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be required to challenge, influence, advise and support various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality housing services to our residents.

While the role is home based the successful candidate will be required to attend team meetings at our head office in Birmingham as required.

What we’re looking for

The essential requirements for the role include:

  • Strong understanding of the Social Housing Regulations
  • Substantial experience of leading and managing a team
  • Substantial knowledge and proven experience of the working in the Housing Sector for older people
  • Substantial experience of developing, creating, and presenting reports to Boards, Executive Teams and External Regulators
  • Experience of policy and process development to support employees
  • Strong influencing and positioning skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively and network effectively at all levels to reach effective outcomes and shared commitment  
  • Highly organised, delivery and service focused and able to manage multiple priorities.
