This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)

It’s an exciting time to join our IT team, following a new structure design, we have several opportunities which will help support and shape our IT systems & service delivery and achieve our vision.  We are investing in our people, processes and systems to change and evolve our ways of working, taking advantage of the latest systems and technology.

As IT Systems Engineer you will provide 3rd line telephone support for approximately 2000 plus users across the business. An awareness of how to support those who are less technical is important.

Within the role you will have a focus on ticket management and resolution. You will be responsible for configuration, administration, security, and support of all aspects of the Housing 21 IT Enterprise Infrastructure. This includes both physical server infrastructure as well as virtual “cloud” technologies.

This is a skilled technical role. The post-holder will be continually updating their external knowledge of associated applications as well as key industry changes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, Cisco Meraki and other relevant technologies and the ability to apply changes, patches and security fixes are core components of the required role.

This is a hybrid role, and the successful candidate will be required to attend our head office in Birmingham at least once a week and to attend meetings as required. You must be easily commutable to this location.

What we’re looking for

The essential requirements for the role include:

  • The ability to troubleshoot issues to third line support level on the corporate systems (full list available on the attached job profile)
  • Knowledge of techniques that can be employed in capacity management, availability management and continuity management such as risk assessment, analysis of single point of failure etc.
  • Excellent troubleshooting techniques, with the ability to work with end users and other IT staff to ascertain root causes of system problems and develop work arounds and permanent solutions.
  • Appropriate Microsoft Azure certification to match required knowledge areas
