Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)

The role

We are currently looking to recruit to a new role of Value and Contracts Manager, to join our Asset Management team here at Housing 21.

Working with the Director of Strategic Asset Management and the Property Improvement Manager (Value & Contracts) you will provide leadership over key sections of departmental activities specialising in, but not restricted to, procurement and value for money, contract management, specification development, digital innovation, technical improvement and innovation.

This role will take a lead on many of our procurement exercises providing technical direction to develop contractual frameworks to deliver major works within our investment programme  You will provide high level supervision of frameworks ensuring adherence to the terms and conditions which you have set. Provide leadership, training, support and advice to the surveying team to ensure wider understanding and compliance.

You will also be responsible for driving improvements to the quality and efficiency of the asset management service, through working with internal and external stakeholders. Preparing and delivering in depth business reports and presentations for a range of forums and audiences.

This is a hybrid role based in our Bradford office a minimum of 2-3 days a week. Some travel will be required in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.

What we’re looking for

The requirements for the role include:

  • Significant demonstrable post qualifying experience in a Quantity or Building Surveying discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of procurement including all relevant regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contractual management. Experience of managing and performance monitoring contracts with providers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract law and contract administration
  • Experience of contributing to business planning, setting project vision, objectives, monitoring and reporting progress.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in a variety of formats including reports, group presentations and in one to one environments.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training material to a technical audience.
  • Knowledge of key technical and policy changes affecting the social housing sector in order to implement directional changes
  • Detailed knowledge of complex building problems defects and remedies
